Chief Executive Officer

Jim Roberts is the CEO and founder of the Family Care Network, Inc. Mr. Roberts has worked in the human service arena for over 35 years. Prior to establishing the agency, he worked in probation, including one year as a camp/ranch administrator, eight years as chief deputy probation officer and one year as acting chief probation officer. Mr. Roberts has not only been the visionary and leader of the organization, but has served as a key leader in developing the San Luis Obispo County Children's Services Network Council and a number of major programs and initiatives, including the County's community-based integrated system of care, Wraparound Services and Transitional Housing Programs, and the Mental Health Services Act programs.

In 1995, Mr. Roberts received commendation from the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors for exemplary service to the community; in 1997 was acknowledged as the "Board Member of the Year" by US Congressman Walter Capps; in 2000 received commendation from the Children's Services Network Council for exemplary leadership and for championing the collaborative services delivery model; in 2003 received recognition from California State Senator Bruce McPherson for exemplary work with children and families on the Central Coast; and in 2007 was honored by the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors for his leadership, innovation and 20 years of service to the County.

Jim currently serves as Chair of the Family-Based and Emerging Services Committee of the statewide California Alliance of Child & Family Services and serves on the Alliance Board of Directors. He is the current Chair for the San Luis Obispo County Children's Services Network Council; has previously served on a County Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board and Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Commission and on numerous state and local advisory boards/committees, commissions, nonprofit boards and ad-hoc committees. Mr. Roberts is a devout Christian, having served as a church leader and teacher for over 35 years.

Chief Operations Officer and Director of Clinical Services

Jon Nibbio currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer and Director of Clinical Services for Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI). In this capacity, he provides leadership in organizational management, administration, and program development. He oversees FCNI’s services to children, youth and families in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties through multiple programs designed to strengthen and preserve families and individuals.

 

Prior to joining FCNI, Jon’s career involved providing leadership, organizational management and clinical services in the field of Mental Health, Child Welfare Services, early childhood education and Juvenile Justice.

He has had the opportunity to serve on numerous committees including: The California Mental Health Planning Council; Policy and Systems Committee; Chair of the Children and Youth Committee from 2001- 2003 and Vice Chair in 2000 and 2009; a committee of advisors to the California Mental Health oversight and Accountability Commission regarding prevention and early intervention; and the Advisory Committee regarding Wraparound services with the National Wraparound initiative.

Jon was also selected as California Probation employee of the year in 1999 and has provided consulting to other organizations and businesses at the community, state, and national levels.


 

Chief Financial Officer

Bobbie Cherry, CPA is the Chief Financial Officer for Family Care Network, Inc. In this role, she manages and directs all significant aspects of the Family Care Networks’ financial, accounting, treasury, risk management and financial compliance operations. Additionally, Ms. Cherry is responsible for all administrative functions of the agency; including information-technology, human resources and administrative support. Ms. Cherry joined the Family Care Network in August 2000; coming from an accounting management position at a San Luis Obispo-based marketing company. Ms. Cherry was certified as a professional accountant at Glenn, Burdette, Phillips and Bryson where she worked in audit and tax for over four years.

Ms. Cherry earned her degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1995, with a BS in Business, concentration in Accounting. Bobbie is a member of the local Legal and Accounting Network which meets regularly to discuss financial and legal issues facing the local businesses. Ms. Cherry also represents the Family Care Network on the San Luis Obispo Affordable Housing Consortium which works to create housing solutions for the County’s homeless population, and has gained extensive expertise in funding housing projects.
