65 businesses have partnered with the Family Care Network, helping us to enhance the lives of those we serve in our community.

Over 3,550 community members have participated in the Family Care Network’s Miracle Miles for Kids, running/walking 22,053 miles in an effort to enhance the lives of children and families living on the Central Coast.

The Family Care Network is the largest private therapeutic foster care provider between Santa Clara and Ventura Counties, having certified 260 foster families in the last 20 years.

On February 1, 2006, the Family Care Network became the first accredited Foster Family Agency, Family-Based Services and Mental Health Services provider based on California’s Central Coast.

Since the agency's inception, it has served 3,962 children, youth and families.

40 individuals or couples have served on the Family Care Network’s Board of Directors.

Using industry accepted indicators, the agency has had an 89% total average success rate (e.g., successful family reunification, diverted from a higher level of care, diverted from the juvenile justice system, successfully transitioned to adulthood, et cetera)–compared to the industry standard success rate of between 60-70%.

The Family Care Network was one of first agencies in California to provide Multidimensional Therapeutic Foster Care, Wraparound Services, TBS and to be licensed as a Transitional Housing Placement provider.

The Family Care Network has been a California certified MediCal-Mental Health services provider since 1999.

The Family Care Network has 6 employees with over 10 years of service and 18 employees with over 5 years of service.

National Mentor Month

Mentor of the Day 1-18-12

Ryan has been matched with his mentee for over 6 months. They have enjoyed going to the park and building wooden car models together. Thank you Ryan for sharing your time with your mentee!

Mentor of the Day 1-17-12

Marcy has been tutoring for a few months. She assists her student with reading, book reports, geometry, and vocabulary. Marcy’s light hearted temperament and willingness to affect change in the life of her student has made her an essential part of the tutoring program.

Mentor of the Day 1-16-12

Nicole has been mentoring for four months. She and her mentee get ice cream together, go to movies, get manicures, go thrift store shopping, and have even carved pumpkins! Nicole has a bubbly personality and it’s easy to see why her mentee enjoys spending time with her.

Mentor of the Day 1-13-12

Dena has been working with her mentee for four months. They enjoy playing soccer and going to movies. Dena is eager to create positive change in the lives of others and dreams of one day working in law enforcement.

Mentor of the Day 1-12-12

Kim has been tutoring for over one year. She reads to students, does puzzles, and assists them in learning to say and write numbers and ABC’s. Kim’s humor and kind demeanor get the kids she works with motivated and interested in anything she sets in front of them.

Mentor of the Day 1-11-12

Darci has been working with her mentee for nine months. They enjoy shopping, going to the beach, getting dinner together, and just hanging out. Darci has a fun loving personality and has been there to support her mentee during difficult times.

Mentor of the Day 1-10-12

Cindy has been tutoring for three months. She assists her student with multiplication, reading, vocabulary and comprehension by reading along with them and playing games such as Hangman to make it fun. Cindy is a true gem and we are lucky to have her as part of the mentor program team!

Mentor of the Day 1-9-12

Sharon has been tutoring for almost two years. She helps her students with reading practice and comprehension, handwriting, and math. Sharon is consistent and has been an invaluable educational resource to her students. Thanks for all you do Sharon!

Mentor of the Day 1-5-12

Brian has been working with his mentee for six months. They enjoy hiking together, exploring their local town and discussing books. Brian has a big heart and desire to support his mentee in achieving his personal goals. We are thankful for Brian and the commitment he has made to his mentee.

Mentor of the Day 1-4-12

Reb has been mentoring for five months. He and his mentee ride bikes, play soccer and grab lunch together. Reb is great at keeping his mentee active and engaged in trying new things. We are thankful for Reb's positive attitude, great role modeling skills and ability to just have fun. Way to go Reb!!
