The agency only provides evidence-based, promising practice or best practice programs and services.

The Family Care Network is the largest private therapeutic foster care provider between Santa Clara and Ventura Counties, having certified 260 foster families in the last 20 years.

Over 3,550 community members have participated in the Family Care Network’s Miracle Miles for Kids, running/walking 22,053 miles in an effort to enhance the lives of children and families living on the Central Coast.

The agency’s services include intensive therapeutic foster care, transitional housing services, family-based family-preservation services, children’s in-home mental health services, school-based services, delinquency prevention/treatment services, mentoring/tutoring services, early intervention and prevention services, outpatient counseling and community-linked services.

Since the agency's inception, it has served 3,962 children, youth and families.

The Family Care Network has 6 employees with over 10 years of service and 18 employees with over 5 years of service.

The Family Care Network has been a California certified MediCal-Mental Health services provider since 1999.

The Family Care Network was one of first agencies in California to provide Multidimensional Therapeutic Foster Care, Wraparound Services, TBS and to be licensed as a Transitional Housing Placement provider.

Over 1,200 volunteers and 175 mentors, interns and tutors have served at the agency.

In the last 20 years, the agency has added $20M in payroll to the local economy.

National Volunteer Week is April 10th-April 16th!!

Please join the Family Care Network and several other local nonprofits by thanking volunteers for their generous service to those in need. Several events will take place throughout the community in April honoring this week of recognition. Below you will find just a few ways you can show your gratitude our local volunteers:

Attend the National Volunteer Week Kick-Off Party on Garden Street in San Luis Obispo on Thursday, April 7th from 5pm-9pm. This party will take place during Farmer’s Market, and guests are invited to come learn more about local volunteering opportunities and to hear about how others are making a difference in our community.
Attend the Celebrating Students in Action event, in which Cal Poly students will be honored for their service to nonprofits throughout the community. The event will take place on Thursday, April 14th from 11am-1pm in the PAC lobby at Cal Poly
Send a thank you card/email/letter/message to a person you know who is volunteering with the Family Care Network and/or other nonprofits in our community.
